Why did I start my live music wedding business?

I will challenge anyone that says working in the wedding industry is not the BEST job in world, because I absolutely believe that it is! I sometimes can't believe that I get front row seats to some of the most precious and special moments of people's lives, and it never gets taken for granted how honoured I feel every time someone says YES to book me to provide their live music!

By why weddings?

Well, let me take you back a few years (well, actually a few more than that!)

I started singing when I was around 12/13 years old, and I joined a local amateur theatre group. I was lucky enough to play a leading role, in the well known musical 'Anything Goes,' and from that age onwards I was absolutely hooked! I loved music, I still love musicals, and I absolutely love the joy that it brings others to listen to live music!

My career in music didn't quite go as planned, with a near miss at getting into a prestigious London drama school, having a ruptured hamstring during professional dance training, and then a number of personal setbacks (one that actually contributed to me stopping singing altogether for a number of years), but coming through all of this one thing still remained. My love for music and for singing had never left me, it just got a little lost along the way.

I started gigging again in 2019, after a relationship ended pretty horribly, but strangely enough that gave me some fire back in my belly to do the things I wanted to do, and that made me happy. I found that bringing other people joy and happiness through music was just what I needed to help heal my own heart (that along with adopting a rescue cat, she is the best decision I've made in my adult life).

My new found fire to sing again drew me to weddings, and I have never looked back. From my first wedding singing for a friend during her drinks reception, to an old school friend looking me up and asking me to sing for her ceremony, it really is the best job in the world.

The thing I love most about working in the wedding industry is the connections you make. The clients I sing for are not just clients, they become connections, they include me in parts of their life like having their first baby and buying their first house together, honestly the messages I get from people that I've sung for just make me well up with emotions.

Music really does have the power to bring people together, whether that's keeping a gentle atmosphere through your wedding reception while friends and family who haven't seen each other for months catch up over a cocktail, or bringing the party vibes during your wedding breakfast and creating some unforgettable memories, it creates magic moments, and that is what I love so much about this job. It's more than just music, it's moments in time, that you and your guests will remember forever.

If you'd like to find out a little more about how I can help you to create this, please get in touch, I'd love to hear from you!

And here is the best YES I ever said, to my beautiful adopted cat Charlie - best decision ever!
